The ₱245-million, Angeles-Magalang Bypass road is now open to the public

Good news for Commuters!

The newly Road Angeles-Magalang Bypass Road is now open to the public. 

The Bypass Road is an alternative route for daily motorists and car goers coming from the city of Angeles to Magalang and vice versa. This 2.605-kilometer Angeles-Magalang Bypass Road was finally launched and opened to the public last Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

The inauguration of the newly-opened Angeles-Magalang Bypass Road was led by Pampanga First District Congressman Carmelo ‘Jon’ Lazatin II and Angeles City Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr.

Together with Vice Mayor Vicky Vega Cabigting, DPWH- 3 Regional Dir. Joseller Tolentino, ARD Denise Maria Ayag, DPWH- Pampanga 3rd DEO DE Arleen Beltran, ADE Arnold Ocampo, HausLand CEO Willie Tan, Jumbo Jenra president Eddie Tan and barangay officials.

The construction of the ₱ 245-million Angeles-Magalang Bypass Road began in 2019.

As reported by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the National Government provided the finances for the execution of the first five connecting projects, which involves the enhancement of the EPZA Diversion Road that connects to Angeles-Magalang Road.

Two more projects, as well as the construction of an 88-meter two-lane bridge crossing North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), which is considered a vital part of this bypass road project, also started in 2020, uttered by DPWH Pampanga 3rd District Engineering Office Assistant District Engineer Arnold Ocampo.

This year 2022, all seven parts of the project are expected to be finalized and are now benefiting the community.

Furthermore, “Motorists will now experience the ease of traffic in the congested area of Pulung Maragul Rotonda in Angeles City. Those coming from Angeles-Magalang-Mabalacat Road, NLEX, Balibago, and Magalang now have an alternate route if they are going to Angeles City or Clark,” uttered by Ocampo.

The project also includes the construction of retaining walls and concrete slope protection on both approaches of the NLEX Overpass, the structure of box culverts in Pulung Cacutud, and the establishment of road safety devices such as guardrails, hazards markers, and pavement markings.
