A new place to look forward: CSFP’s Giant Lantern and Tourist Information Center

Fernandinos, hear me out!

After the groundbreaking a year ago, it is expected that this upcoming May, the Giant Lantern and Tourist Information Center situated at the former Paskuhan Village will finally be open to public

In his speech on February 22, 2022, at an event he attended, Mayor Edwin “EDSA” Santiago mentioned that the Giant Lantern and Tourist have been already at its 80% Completion rate.

Once opened to the public, the center will not only help fellow Kapampangans but also, it’s a way where Fernandinos and Filipinos will be able to showcase the tradition of making giant lanterns and share the knowledge with the people.

It is expected that a museum, exhibit place, library, archive center, City’s tourism department office, and a conference room will be part of the center. It also includes the Pasalubong area, where you can buy goods, snacks, and souvenirs mainly in Pampanga. Especially in San Fernando.

On the other hand, an amphitheater is also being built in front of the center.

The design of the amphitheater is patterned after SM Prime Holdings Corporation’s trademark design of their amphitheater.

It is also said that the Premier Central Incorporated (PCI) owned by the SM Holding Corporation, donated the project to the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

The launching will be in line with the celebration of the “Pyestang Fernandino ” so, it is expected that shareholders and private sectors will come together as CSFP’s Giant Lantern and Tourist Information Center will be one of the highlights of the said celebration.
