I have more good news for daily commuters in Porac, Pampanga.
Let me tell you something that will make your day!
Recently, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Pampanga 2nd District Engineering Office concluded and completed the ₱6.9-million, 0.385- kilometer Farm to Mill Road located in Barangay San Jose Mitla in Porac Town in Pampanga.
The project was supported by the Sugar Regulatory Administration by funding the infrastructure of the newly completed Farm-to-Mill Road.
District Engineer Gregorio Audea Jr. commented, “The elevated road benefits the cassava and sugarcane farmers as they no longer have to go through the dirt road leading to their barangay.”
“Roads used to be just pathways shaped from lahar deposits generated from the explosion of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991 was easily destroyed by heavy rains which sometimes run off into the farms and damage their crops,” he mentioned.
“Although the current health crisis has affected their livelihood, residents believe that once the economy recovers, the farm-to-mill road will greatly benefit them,” Audea inserted.
Aside from the Farm-to-Mill Road, there’s also an installation of a single arm post with street lights which is included in the project, along the newly built Porac Road to guarantee the safe use and security of commuters and pedestrians using the road, especially at night when it’s dark.
