Building your own home is one of life’s most exciting moments. It’s your blank canvas, a place where memories, laughter, and family life will unfold. But let’s be honest—making that dream a reality can feel overwhelming.
If you’ve been pinning home ideas, scrolling through sleek kitchens, or imagining a modern tropical house in Central Luzon, you’ll want to hear about ONYX Global Construction. This local team doesn’t just build houses—they craft homes that stand the test of time.
Meet the Man Behind the Homes
Nelson, fondly called “the contractor” (though his business card reads Founder and CEO), started ONYX in 2018. They began with interior design and fit-outs, making spaces stylish and functional. By 2023, the company expanded to government projects and residential homes.
When a builder focuses on where people actually live, it’s more than bricks and cement—it’s about comfort, lifestyle, and making a house feel like home.
Modern, Contemporary, and Built to Last
What makes ONYX homes stand out? Their signature is modern contemporary tropical design. Nelson avoids short-lived trends, focusing on designs that stay fresh for years.
Think clean lines, open spaces, and seamless indoor-outdoor flow. They use natural stone cladding for texture and depth, while interiors feature durable quartz surfaces that look polished and elegant. The result? Homes that are timeless, stylish, and built to last.
A Basement Challenge
One of ONYX’s standout projects shows how creative they can be. A family needed a bigger home—so a third floor was added. But the real problem was parking. Their lot was small, and cramming cars into a tiny driveway wasn’t an option.
Nelson suggested a bold solution: an underground basement. Pampanga’s sandy soil and high water table made this tricky, but the team stabilized the ground with gravel and smart engineering. The result? The area’s first full basement parking in that neighborhood.
This project proves ONYX doesn’t just follow the plan—they innovate when challenges arise.
Fast, Smart, and Efficient
The finished home spans 472 square meters, including a master suite, kids’ rooms, guest room, and maid’s room. Tech-savvy features like smart locks and automated systems were also added.
Instead of standard reinforced concrete, steel I-beams were used. Why? Faster construction without compromising strength. A project planned for 11 months and 8 days was finished in nine months—saving time while maintaining quality.
More Than Builders
ONYX isn’t just about construction—they guide clients from start to finish. Engineer Chris Rivera and media exec Dan Joseph describe a team that knows the soil, the weather, and how to manage complex projects efficiently.
Beyond Pampanga, they’re building in Dasmariñas, Cavite, and Calamba. Their goal is the same: help clients turn blueprints into dream homes while managing design and construction under one roof.
Why ONYX Stands Out
Building a home is exciting, stressful, and a major investment. ONYX makes it smoother by combining design, engineering, and construction expertise. They’re passionate, innovative, and committed to quality.
If you have land waiting for its story to be told, Nelson and his team can help turn it into a home that’s modern, practical, and built to last for years.
