Today, we want to unveil another great food discovery. This restaurant serves international flavors and authentic Kapampangan cuisine blended with the taste of herbs and spices which are freshly picked from their mini hanging garden.
Located at the 3rd. Floor of Hanniel Square Building, Corner De Guzman St., Brgy. Claro M. Recto., Angeles City. This is The Veranda Herbs & Spices Restaurant.
The Veranda Herbs & Spices Restaurant has an industrial inspired style with the feel of a modern patio as the name of the restaurant describes itself.
While it’s outdoor space has a breath-taking view of Mt. Arayat, the indoor has a more cozy ambiance.
Upon our arrival, we met the owners and chefs at the same time, they are husband and wife Martin Oliver Garcia and Lovely Garcia. During our conversation, they shared their passion for food and how’d they come up with the whole concept of the place. According to them, they wanted to have a place for food lovers where they can relax, enjoy the great ambiance, get good mood with music and savor fantastic food that’s worth spending their money.
Being a restaurant that serves a variety of dishes, we were served with a lavish table. Here’s a rundown of our food.
Go-To-Wings (Php 245) – This is their version of the traditional buffalo wings in a spicy and tangy sauce. The Blue Cheese dip added a more exquisite taste.
Tinapa Kayo Dyan! (Php 150) – Have a different perspective of the regular Tinapa. This is shredded tinapa meat with loose lettuce, tomatoes, and cream cheese rolled in a wrapper. I myself is not a fan of sour dip, but I enjoyed the vinaigrette a lot.
Rustic Tomato Soup (Php 160) – Fresh tomatoes simmered at a slow pace with herbed white sauce topped with pesto. The grilled cheddar sandwich is indeed a perfect match for this soup.
Pumpkin and Carrot Soup (Php 120) – One of my favorite! The cinnamon added an inviting aroma and the taste is just unforgettable.
Seriously? It’s Cheese. (Php 350) – This is raclette overload. It has Parmigiano Reggiano, cheddar, and Mozzarella topped with fresh arugula tossed with balsamic vinaigrette and honey.
Asian Pull Pork Slider (Php 195) – This is your “no ordinary” slider. The slowly cooked pork tasted heavenly. I love the fusion of the flavored purple cabbage and black olives.
Pasta Ala Veranda (Php 220) – All fresh and natural ingredients: extra virgin olive oil, fresh garlic, fresh tomatoes, basil, and olives. Everything topped with Parmigiano Reggiano, Sardines and cashew nuts.
The Veranda Signature Salad (Php 330) – A salad mix of assorted leaves, carrots, cucumbers, and tomatoes. It has 3 choices of dressings: caesar, balsamic vinaigrette, and mango cilantro.
Lamb Adobo (Php 395) – Filipino’s most loved food has a peculiar meat: slow cooked lamb ribs.
Beef Bourguignon (Php 580) – This is the most tender beef I’ve ever tasted. The Wagyu Beef is braised and cooked in red wine sauce and then topped with sauteed mushroom, crispy onion, and mashed potato on the side.
From left to right: Black Forest (Php 195), The Veranda Iced Tea w/ Pandan & Orange (Php 80/glass | Php 140/bottomless), Malunggay Cooler (Php 70/glass | Php 130/bottomless), Strawberry (Php 180)
Cheese It Ensaimada! (Php 75)
Oh My Pumpkin, The Sweetest! (Php 110)
Banoffee Smores (Php 120)
Classic Cheesecake (Php 160)
Incredible staffs and owners!
