(whereinpampanga.com) My wife Joise has always been a fan of grill restaurants. She just loves the complementing aroma of barbecue smoke to the overall taste of a meal. So when we got an invitation from our contact page, I immediately contacted their Facebook fan page and confirmed our interest to feature this new food discovery.
This is Delish-Yoso.
Delish-Yoso is located in the middle of a food belt in Hensonville. If you go to this part of Angeles City, it is literally like a showcase of various restaurants. The street of Richtofen is evidently crowded with food stops and bars.
But Delish-Yoso is one of the stand outs on your choices. The resto’s signage will quickly catch your attention as soon as you arrive in the place. It has a broad parking space, which is a plus point from consumers who uses their private cars.
The dining area is divided into two main sections: the open area and the air-conditioned function room. Which ever you prefer, you can still enjoy the affordable meals this Delish-Yoso has to offer.
The closed function hall can accommodate up to 150 persons which is best for birthdays, weddings, reunions and other special occasion that needs a secluded area.
Let’s talk about the food!
It is our first time to try Deslish-Yoso so we have no idea of their best sellers. Ms. Daisy Jimenez, one of the restaurant owners and in-charge of the production, offered us 4 of their most ordered meals:
- Kinilaw na Tanigue
- Baby Back Ribs
- Crispy Pata
- Sizzling Itik
Kinilaw na Tanigue (Php 268) – Consist of grilled pork, cucumber, onion and a generous number of prawns. Everything is partially soaked with a sweet and sour secret concoction.
For me the prawns were cooked just right. They’re not under cooked nor too raw to eat. I was also surprised that the pork was tender and easy to chew. Good job!
Baby Back Ribs (Php 250) – On the four meals that were offered to us, this is probably my best bet. The meat was so tender and it almost peels itself from the bone. It is accompanied by a mashed potato which is also exceptional in taste. It’s not the usual blunt taste, instead it has a strong buttery and garlic like taste.
Crispy Pata (Php 390) – Next on our plate is this colossal whole pork leg – crispy fried to perfection. This meal is a wish granted for a meat lover. It is an absolute pork-lover’s delight: crunchy pork skin enclosing savory tender meat.
Sizzling Itik (Php 380) – The people in Delish-Yoso knows how to save the best for last. Because our concluding meal is this Sizzling Itik which we do not get easily anywhere.
What I liked about this dish is, similar to the baby back ribs, it has a sweet barbecue taste. Although the meat is not that tender (which is given for wild duck’s meat), I enjoyed it like a finger food or somewhat like a pulutan for our iced tea. 🙂
This iced tea has a strong tamarind like sour taste. But according to Ms. Daisy, it doesn’t have tamarind in it. Anyway, it’s still best to seal all the meals.
While we were taking pictures of the food, patron customers started to arrive. An unexpected birthday party also booked right there while we were reviewing the food.
Overall, Delish-Yoso is an absolute “two thumbs up recommendation”.
